Your data
Privacy Policy.
What information the service uses, why it is needed, and what becomes public.
Who is responsible
outages.global provides community service reports, agent observations and official provider updates. The operator’s legal identity, address and privacy contact are pending confirmation for this draft.
Information you provide
- Accounts: your name, email address, profile image when provided, sign-in credentials and connected sign-in provider details. Google sign-in, where enabled, supplies information about the account you choose.
- Your watchlist: saved services, countries and personal board settings, so your board can follow you across devices.
- Reports and comments: the service, selected country, problem or working-again update, time, and any text you submit. Agent observations can also include operation names, response codes and timing information.
You can browse public service pages without creating an account. Account details are needed to use features that save information to your account.
Technical information and storage
Sign-in sessions can store an IP address and browser information. Report intake uses a keyed hash derived from an account or network identity to limit abuse and repeated reports; this does not make all data collected by the site anonymous.
Cookies maintain sign-in and remember language and country choices. Browser storage also remembers recent services, report receipts and update permissions. Clearing that storage can remove preferences and the ability to update an earlier anonymous report.
Search selections record the selected service and country with a hashed browser identifier to produce trending searches. The selection recorder does not store the raw search query.
How information is used
Information supports sign-in, personal watchlists, report updates, community status calculations, search suggestions, moderation and abuse prevention. The legal basis for each purpose, including any consent needed for optional browser storage, must be confirmed before this policy is published.
What other people can see
Reports, observations and published comments contribute to public pages and machine-readable interfaces. Public evidence can include your submitted text, service, country, outcome and timestamps. Account email addresses, session tokens and internal reporter identifiers are not fields in the public evidence response.
Do not put passwords, API keys, payment details or other private information in reports or comments. Public content may be read or copied by visitors, search engines and agents.
Service providers and automated processing
The service relies on hosting, database and authentication providers. When automated text processing is enabled, comment text and related service context can be sent to TypeSafe for moderation. Automated moderation can affect whether a comment is displayed. Community status calculations use report evidence separately.
The production provider list, processing locations, contractual protections and any international transfer arrangements remain to be verified for the published policy.
How long information is kept
Sign-in sessions have a configured lifetime of 30 days and can be renewed during use. Country and language cookies are set for up to one year. Local browser storage remains until cleared or replaced by the application. Older search-selection records are pruned after 48 hours when new selections are recorded.
These periods do not describe deletion of account records, reports, comments, logs or backups. Their retention and deletion schedule is still being finalized. A report becoming too old to influence the current status does not mean it has been deleted.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and complain to a data protection authority.
A verified contact channel and request-handling process must be available before this policy is finalized. Contact details will be listed on our Contact us page.
